Review of: Perugia Salon Spa Review By:Kathy I went to Perugia for a haircut BECAUSE I had been given gift certificates. The haircut cost $70, and was the absolute worst haircut ever. The stylist did not even whisk the pieces of hair off my face or lift a mirror to show me the back. And left me with no style whatsovever. She was totally unprofessional and untalented. What a disappointment. Won't go back.
p.s. I was warned to get a face massage or something - warned that the haircuts were awful. But oh no, I got one anyway!5

Perugia is one of the worst spas in Edmonton. I went with my fiance on our anniversary for a couple's massage and an aromatherapy bath.
First, a day before hand, a girl called us saying that they would need to move our time to a later slot due to the treatments we were getting. I thought it was odd, but I said it was fine.
When we arrived (15 minutes early). We were immediately told we were late and that our treatments wouldn't be given to us. I was appalled. I then told them that I had received a phone call a day earlier from a girl saying the time had been moved. They said that's untrue as no one would ever do such a thing. I told them no, it had happened. The girl asked for who had called us. I said she never gave her name, just confirmed our treatments and gave us a new time slot. She proceeded to roll her eyes and said, "Fine. But your aromatherapy bath will be shortened." We were quickly ushered into a waiting room and my fiance whispered to me that this probably isn't going to work out. I said if I smile and treat them nicely, maybe it will.
After we were ready, we were shown to the massage room. My fiance said his massage was fantastic...mine on the other hand was awful! They pressed way too hard, and when I said to lighten the pressure, they didn't! I asked multiple times, and it didn't happen. I brushed it off thinking I would feel better in the morning, like after having a deep-tissue massage (I didn't BTW, I had to make another massage appointment elsewhere just to recover from that one).
After, we were shown to the aromatherapy bath. The girl curtly told us that 30min had to be shortened to 20 and then slammed the door behind her, not even telling us how to operate the bath. The bath was cold and not full, and by the time we figured out the controls, we only had 10 minutes, before we were curtly told our treatment was over and we had to get ready to leave.
This was the worst part!! They have lockers at Perugia, and I locked all of my belongings and clothes in the locker, taking the key with me. Upon my return to the changeroom, I found out that someone had stolen my underwear!!! I searched for them in the locker room thinking I dropped them, and someone had thrown them out, but they were nowhere to be found! I didn't even bother to ask about it when we were leaving because I was too upset to care.
Needless to say, I will never go back to Perugia, and I tell everyone I know never to go there either.

I just got back from a massage at Perguia with Kimberely and it was INCREDIBLE! The entire experience was wonderful. All the staff were very polite and prompt. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment and everything went according to schedule. I had a 50 minute full body massage and came out more relaxed than I've ever been. I will definitely be going back!

I went back seven times because I had gift certificates I had to use up and was hoping that I just had the misfortune of encountering the one or two poorly trained staff.
I also wouldn't define professionalism as two pedicurists loudly discussing how wasted they got the night before, or repeatedly using the same stick in the hot wax while doing a Brazilian. Do you really want someone using one stick and repeatedly redipping it in the wax for someone's Brazilian and then reusing the same hot wax--a petri dish of bacteria--on you?
Neither professional nor hygienic. This spa is only impressive if you are used to Vo's Nails.

Relaxing environment, friendly staff! They made me feel right at home! Some of the staff might be young but very aware of the meaning of professionalism. I have had many services there and all of them were outstanding! I had my massage done by Kimberly, who was very knowledgeable and very good at what she does. I recommend her! Perugia over all is a great spa and I recommend them to anyone!
Just curious as to why the lady with the review below, would go back seven times if she didn't like them in the first place?

I went there for a "Perugian Wax," which is their version of a full brazilian with no strip left. The reception was friendly, and the changing area was very nice. Lots of mirrors, lockers, a private shower and a steam room. The woman who performed the waxing was friendly and professional, and the bed was comfy. It was my first time getting this done and it was a comfortable environment for it, I reccomend them (:
